American Philosophical Association Partners with Interfolio to Offer Members Free Dossier Account and Complimentary One-Year ByCommittee Subscription

Washington, D.C., September 17, 2012–Interfolio, a trusted provider of higher education credential management and committee-based decision-making services, today announced a partnership with the American Philosophical Association (APA), one of the largest philosophical societies globally, to offer APA members a free Interfolio Dossier account and a complimentary one-year subscription of Interfolio ByCommittee.

“The APA continues to look for innovative tools to help our members on the job market reduce the stress and costs associated with finding a job, and also to help philosophy departments select the most qualified faculty members,” said Amy Ferrer, executive director of the American Philosophical Association. “Interfolio’s Dossier service makes it easier for job candidates to deliver multiple applications, and ByCommittee centralizes and streamlines the candidate evaluation process for hiring committees.”

With Dossier, job-seeking members of APA can upload, store and deliver their academic credentials online to any hiring institution. Additionally, letter writers can submit confidential letters of recommendation on members’ behalf online.

APA members can use Interfolio ByCommittee, a secure online committee-based decision making service, to help their philosophy departments streamline the evaluation and selection of faculty candidates. The service makes time-intensive processes unnecessary by allowing search committees to collaborate online with sophisticated evaluation tools and workflows specifically built for higher education institutions. Dossier delivery fees are waived for candidates applying to institutions using Interfolio ByCommittee.

“We’re excited to give the APA the opportunity to provide their members trusted technology services that will ease the challenge of applying for multiple faculty positions,” said Steve Goldenberg, CEO of Interfolio. “Interfolio remains dedicated to helping search committees effectively evaluate and select the most qualified and diverse candidates.”
